ABOUT

Debbie Brannigan is a painter in the Starland Arts District of Savannah, GA.  Her design career began in Detroit, MI creating free-hand isometric drawings and concept car illustrations for the auto industry.  She left Michigan in the 90s to pursue a career in aerospace design in Seattle, WA, eventually settling in Savannah, GA. You can see evidence of her love for both nature and geometric design in  each creation.

Debbie developed a love for trees in childhood while growing up in a suburb of Detroit, MI.  In 6th grade a three-month school project of collecting leaves and identifying tree species imprinted a curiosity that has lasted a lifetime.  Many of her tree creations include elements from nature, which requires a 3-4 week process of drying, pressing and preserving elements  to retain their natural beauty.

Debbie began to notice that a lot of the most delicate and interesting patterns could be found in the run-off paint tray.   Many of her abstract pieces consist of re-purposed acrylic "cast offs".  She finds it very meditative to take the seeming chaos of random patterns and assemble them into something graceful or energetic.

"After 33 years of automotive and aerospace design, I am happy to return to a less structured form of art and design.  I hope you find beauty here.  Thank you for visiting."
